Founder / Chairman
Rick Parkhill is the founder and Chairman of Poptent. The business concept for Poptent was a result of his many years in the interactive media world and watching his son grow up shooting, editing and producing homemade music videos. Rick recognized early-on that advertisers would have an increasing need for video content and that there was an ever-deepening pool of capable creative talent that was developing outside of agency walls. His vision was to empower that creative community by providing them with real opportunities to demonstrate their skills. Rick gathered friends Neil Perry, Tony Romeo and Richard Bruck to found Poptent in early 2007.
Prior to Poptent, Rick was the founder and CEO of iMedia Communications, the leading information provider and conference producer for interactive media and marketing. iMedia Summits continue to attract leading advertisers, brands, agencies, publishers and vendors throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Rick was a founding executive at Interactive Marketing, Inc. in the mid-‘90s and founded Digitrends Magazine and the popular Camp Interactive events. In 1987, Rick converted a small newsletter he had launched for friends and clients into the first magazine for media and marketing executives. InfoText was a pre-internet publication that covered the emerging Audiotext and Videotext industries.
Rick’s fascination with the evolution of media has driven his career and continues to spark his imagination. An avid surfer, skier, boater and recovering tennis player, Rick loves to spend his time on the water and outdoors with family and friends. He serves on the DMG Worldmedia Board of Governors and is active fundraiser and board member for Pipeline to a Cure, the surfers initiative to end Cystic Fibrosis. He lives in Laguna Niguel with his wife Jeanne, daughter Reilly and nearby children, Andrew and Jennifer.

Director of Client Service
Liz came to Poptent in 2010, as a client services manager, to maintain and develop day to day relationships with Poptent’s clients. In early 2013, Liz assumed leadership of the client services department, where she built and now leads the operational team that ensures clients and creators find success on Poptent.
Her client service philosophy is a simple one: Constant advocacy for client success. Whether that means pushing Poptent’s boundaries for a client or pushing a client to think beyond preconceptions that are holding them back, the goal is always the same, clear communication, constant advocacy, and expertise without ego. Part of a successful client services strategy is maintaining an empowered operational team, and one of Liz’s major focuses is on constantly pushing, challenging, and supporting her team.
Liz is most proud of three things she has played a part in at Poptent: building an efficient operational structure and team, co-founding Poptent Labs (Poptent’s internal think tank), and helping to mature our clients’ understanding of crowdsourcing from something experimental into a meaningful way to ideate and produce video.
Prior to joining Poptent, Liz spent a decade in various capacities in the promotional products industry. During that time, she gained valuable insight into account services, direct sales, and, having started her own promotional products distributorship in 2008, operational management. That full spectrum education has served her well in navigating cross-departmental relationships and concerns at Poptent.
If you're ever supposed to meet Liz and can't find her, just look up, she might be hanging from the ceiling on a trapeze! As an aerialist, she has learned that achieving seemingly impossible heights never comes without a little bruising and scraping along the way. Liz lives on the Philadelphia Main Line with her beautiful daughter Elzie, where she maintains a constant cycle of finishing one home improvement while kicking off another.
Director of Technology
Jason joined Poptent in 2007 as its first technology resource, building out the original site and setting the architecture going forward. Now in the Director of Technology role, he heads the IT and development teams in the building of a world leading platform for the crowdsourcing of video creative. Prior to joining Poptent, Jason served as Programmer Analyst for the University of South Dakota’s web team, leading the charge for its new content management system while also introducing rigorous standards for the hardening and security of their technology platform, and American Automobile Association (AAA) of South Dakota and Oklahoma, where he managed all facets of the technology environment across multiple states. Jason also built a web hosting service from the ground up, helping local businesses start and maintain a web presence utilizing open source software and architecture. While not working, Jason enjoys horseback riding, yoga, playing the guitar and solving technology challenges through self study and coding events. He and his wife Cyn live in the Philadelphia suburbs with their 2 Maine Coon cats, 2 Welsh Corgis, and 2 Arabian Mares.
Chris Vasquez joined Poptent in late 2008 to help create the initial user interfaces and experiences. Now, in his role leading Product, he focuses on identifying problems facing Poptent clients in their efforts to find, activate, and manage creative talent, developing solutions to those problems, and packaging them in a platform built on simple and enjoyable interactions. He’s a firm believer in the idea that open, unbiased curiosity is the foundation of good product development. This philosophy led him to co-found Poptent’s internal think tank, Poptent Labs, out of which emerged a number of the company’s most innovative products and client engagement strategies including Poptent’s consumer testing product as well as development of products focused on influencer marketing on YouTube, Vine, and Instagram.
Chris got his start running a boutique web development shop in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, helping a range of companies with projects spanning the spectrum from browser based email signature injections to support charitable donations, to promotional sites for major motion pictures. A futurist to the core, Chris’ life is a never ending investigation into what the world will be like next year and how to best prepare for it.
When not working, Chris researches social and emotional triggers by watching videos of cats jumping into things.
